Penelope "Penny" June

She is here!!!

The first of seven little ones to come this year!

This diaper cake is a little on the late side
( I wasn't able to make it to Camille and Jason's baby shower)

I started off by buying;

A pack of 60 swaddlers size 2 and a small shampoo bottle

(Mama to be- choice of shampoo)

I then rolled all 60 diapers like cigars

and rubber banded them in place

Tip: Keep all the rubber bands

in the middle or closer to the bottom

Since this is a smaller pack of diapers then I normally use

I placed a roll of toilet paper as the base

I have done this in the past, and it actually seems to work best

After the third tier is added

I measure out some ribbon

and fasten it in the back

with hot glue

This is an added touch
that I have really grown to love

It is just simple crinkled paper
sold at most craft stores
and in many many colors

Now for the cute stuff!!!

Using the cricut machine
I cut out the baby's name

and two adorable owls
(mama's favorite)

This gives it a more personal feel

and it is way to friggin cute!!

It is coming along

In the world of Christmas Stockings
All I can say is,

It is coming along!

After numerous finger stabs with needles

and my toes being bitten (my dogs trying to catch my attention)

I would say I am close to being more then half way done!

To add to the Christmas wonder (I know it is Spring!)

I stopped by this little consignment store I know

and I found this for........$4.35!!!

There is no print date listed, so from what I could dig up on Google

This book was probably printed in the 1930's or possibly the middle 1940's!

List price: Usually $45-50!
I just love me some old books, and I am a sucker for anything Christmas!

Two by Two Diaper Cake

" The Twins "

Marcus & Christian

I did this cake for my friend Ashley, who was blessed with two beautiful baby boys!

Again, I used the cricut machine to get all the cute little shapes.

Diaper Cakes

You always hear about pregnancies coming in bouts of three,

but I strongly disagree!

In my circle of friends, family and acquaintances,
it is usually more like sixes!!

SO when it comes to the gift giving,
I like to give all my soon to be mamas,
something practical and useful, but also a Lil cutesy!

I love making diaper cakes, you can make them so personal.

I made this one for my friend Brittany
who was having a baby boy, names Tyseon!
we all call him Prince though!!    :-)

I rolled each diaper (I used an 80pack of size 2)
in to cigar shapes and rubber banded them in to place

The bottom tier has a Baby lotion/soap
(or you can use the rounded baby wipe containers)

After you have that in place, on at a time place the rolled diapers,
until you have a neat row.

Rubber band this entire row around the lotion.

Continue until your base is the size that you like.

(I used 4 rows for the bottom , 3 for the middle and 2 for the top)

To add the ribbon, I measured how much I would need of each color
and then Glue Gunned the two ends together.

The special Mickey Mouse cut outs were made using My Cricut
with the Mickey Mouse letter cartridge.

I have done quite a few diaper cakes
(as i said, the people in my life really love making babies hehe!! )

but I have to admit this was my all time favorite cake!

They always seem to get better and more creative as I make them and of course are so enjoyable!

They also make  a great center piece at baby showers!

Shaunntae's bridal shower

My family threw a surprise Bridal Shower for my sister Shaunntae.

It ended up being very intimate, due to such short timing!
(1 week before her wedding!)

But, If I do say so myself It turned out so well!

The original plan was; Mason Jars as vases and books, but we found these puppies at Michael's and we fell in love with that concept instead!

Water with a few slices of  Fresh Cucumber not only adds a Lil flavor
but makes it so appealing

We did the same with the Lemonade - Fresh slices of Lemon, of course!

The color of the salad makes your want to just eat it up
(And for me being, a non salad lover, that is pretty good)

We used these decorative boxes as decor and as the wrapping for our Bridal Shower gifts
Shaunntae is my Diva sister ( she will admit it too) so it works so well!

We were very lucky to find these fresh flowers growing by my Mom's house. So My sister Shaunna and one of her kids picked a few bouquets.
